Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring of groundworks for the insertion of kitchen and toilet facilities into the west tower and for an associated sewer run across the graveyard was undertaken at the church of St Mary the Virgin, Widdington. No significant archaeological remains, including burials, were identified in the sewer run. The tower was completely rebuilt in 1872 and only the Victorian under-floor heating duct was exposed. |
