Abstract: |
A desktop survey and a 5-7% evaluation was carried prior to the construction of a care home and village on the site. A number of stray finds are recorded from the area in the 19th century and a more recent evaluation in a field to the NE revealed a small truncated feature with 5 sherds of prehistoric pottery. Two stray prehistoric flints were found and surviving rig and furrow suggests that there has been intensive agricultural activity on the site for several hundred years. No other features of prehistoric date were observed. J C Murray 2014. |
