Abstract: |
The site of the proposed new forge workshop/garage lies just to the north of the Roman road running eastward from Honiton. The presence of the nearby Grey Stone - a standing stone adjacent to the road - may indicate the pre-Roman origins of this road route. Given the proximity of the proposed development to the Roman, or earlier, road and the potential for groundworks associated with the construction of the workshop/garage to expose archaeological or artefactual deposits associated with the use of the road. |
