Abstract: |
A standing building survey was undertaken on a range of 19th-century steading buildings prior to their demolition. The 19th-century U-plan steading was typical of smaller Aberdeenshire Improvement farms. Few details remained but good stonework on one gable suggests this was the original position of the wheel for a water mill. This is supported by the position of a lade shown on OS maps of 1864 and 1899. J C Murray 2015. |
