Abstract: |
Historic environment desk-based assessment of the site of the former Thorpe Maternity Hospital, Andrew's Lane, near Peterlee, County Durham. In terms of buried archaeological remains, the assessment concluded that the site has low potential for early prehistoric remains, high potential for later prehistoric and Roman remains, moderate potential for Anglo-Saxon and medieval and post-medieval agricultural remains, and high potential for structural remains of the hospital. |
