Abstract: |
In August 2015 Archaeological Solutions (AS) carried out an archaeological evaluation on land adjacent to Lilymead, Mill End, Standon, Hertfordshire (NGR TL 3960 2262). The evaluation was undertaken in compliance with a planning condition attached to appeal approval for the construction of a dwelling following the demolition of a garage. The site lies some 100m from the medieval and later crossing point of the Rib, and also had potential for Roman period remains. The evaluation revealed no archaeology except a modern pit which contained building demolition debris including plastic. |
