Abstract:		 In July 2016 Archaeological Research Services Ltd (ARS Ltd) was commissioned by Henry Boot Construction Ltd to undertake an archaeological watching brief in satisfaction of planning consent (15/02299/FULM) in advance of the construction of an 'extra-care' residential development for the elderly. Archaeological monitoring of the proposed development was inserted as a condition prior to occupancy and development. The site lies in close proximity to non-designated historic environment assets recorded within the Nottinghamshire HER (Historic Environment Record). The project was undertaken by Caitlin Halton, Elise McLellan and Tim Cobbold, assistant project officers and archaeological officers at Archaeological Research Services Ltd (ARS), and was managed by Reuben Thorpe and Tony Brennan, Projects Manager and Operations Manager respectively at ARS Ltd. An area measuring approximately 1 ha was stripped of topsoil and underlying natural silty sand deposits to the depth required by the development. No buried archaeological features or finds were identified.
