Abstract: |
Between June and August 2016 Oxford Archaeology were commissioned by Martin Ashley Architects on behalf of Eton College, Windsor, to undertake an archaeological watching brief during resurfacing and drainage works in the main school courtyard. Evidence of drainage improvements work in the form of drains and brick culverts from 19th century were revealed and also brickwork associated with a potential 17th century colonnade or loggia to the lower school. A bottle containing early 19th century marbles was also found. |
