Abstract:		 An archaeological observation was undertaken on the excavation of an access road associated with the second phase of redevelopment of land to the south of Newark, Nottinghamshire. Waterman Energy, Environment and Design Ltd commissioned Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd. to undertake the archaeological observation on behalf of the Buckingham Group Contracting Limited. No archaeological features were discovered in this area. The removal of a section of modern tarmac path and associated bedding layers were observed which sealed top and subsoil layers and natural deposits. No finds were retrieved.
