Abstract: |
The open area strip excavation was located at the southern edge of the Jewry Wall baths ruins, immediately adjacent to the public footpath to the south, in advance of a proposed pedestrian access ramp for Jewry Wall Museum. Archaeological evidence was located in the middle area, and consisted of two Roman walls, a patch of tessellated pavement, and associated floor make-up levels. These could relate to the baths complex, or else be evidence for a separate building adjacent to the baths. |
