Abstract: Rapid walkover survey using a GPS, to assess the woodland's potential to contain well-preserved archaeological remains. The wood was walked in transects aligned roughly N-S and approx 50m to 100m apart. The survey is only a sample of the wood and should not be taken as exhaustive or its results as definitive. Features identified included charcoal burning platforms, other platforms, the woodland boundary bank, a compartment boundary, a stone-built structure and several quarries.
