Abstract: An Archaeological Desk Based Assessment has been undertaken with regard to a proposed application for the construction of a two-storey rear extension and first-floor projecting front extension and associated works at The Polka Theatre, 240 The Broadway, Wimbledon, London SW19 1SB. The overall potential for encountering evidence of significant archaeological remains has been assessed as Low, which reflects the limited scope and importance of the resource identified in the vicinity of the site, based on available sources of archaeological and historical information, the limited nature of the potential impacts on sub-surface deposits and the fact that the site is not located within a designated Archaeological Priority Area.
