Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out on land at Morley Manor, Shermanbury, West Sussex as was part of the planning consent for the excavation of a pond at the Site. The monitoring of a topsoil strip down to the natural revealed no archaeological features, apart from a modern land drain and a fence line. An assemblage of artefacts included some prehistoric flintwork and firefractured flint, and medieval and post medieval pottery shreds. The pottery suggested periods of cultivation and pasture during the medieval and early post medieval periods. |
