Abstract: |
Two evaluation trenches were excavated on the site between 20/11/2017 - 23/11/2017. Unfortunately, due to modern services, only one trench was able to be investigated. Just over 2.0 m of modern deposits were seen that dating from redevelopment of the site in the late 1980's. A large brick foundation was also uncovered; this foundation was possibly the base for machinery associated with the Anchor Brewery that occupied the site from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries. Natural ground was not reached. |
