Abstract: |
Desk and field based assessment of a development site in the Cornwall and West Devon World Heritage Site. Pensilva is an industrial settlement founded in the mid 19th century and subdivided by landlords into smallholdings and cottage rows. The development site contained one such row, likely demolished following the collapse of the mining industry here in the late 19th century. During the twentieth century the site was occupied by allotment gardens. The assessment considers the contribution of the site to the significance of the World Heritage Site. |
