Abstract: |
The Environment Agency were required by an EU water frame directive (2000/60/EC) to enable fish and eel migration upstream in areas suitable for spawning and feeding, the work conducted at Churchend mill, Stroud, Gloucestershire, as part of this program Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd were commissioned to carry out a program of historic building recording on the remains of the Mill chase and bypass weir. The results of the historic building recording identified features relating to the construction of the original water wheel and the internal construction of the Bypass weir. |
