Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 7.9 hectares of pasture. The survey has identified an extension of the prehistoric or Roman enclosure complex detected by a previous survey of the area. A further pit may also relate to this activity; however it could equally be agricultural or natural in origin. The detection of ridge and furrow cultivation across the site suggests that the area has been used for agricultural purposes since the medieval period. The remaining anomalies are modern in origin, relating to an area of made ground, a land drain, ferrous objects, and fencing. |
