Abstract: |
On the 7th and 8th of January 2019, Oxford Archaeology East (OA East) undertook an archaeological excavation on land west of Ixworth Road, Thurston (TL 91667 66080). The 20x20m excavation area was opened over the north end of Trench 13 of the previous evaluation where two Neolithic pits had been uncovered. The excavation revealed two more pits, one Neolithic and one Early Bronze Age in date. Few finds were recovered, most finds came from the Early Bronze Age pit. The pit contained 13 sherds of pottery including one of possible rusticated beaker and 23 pieces of burnt stone and flint. |
