Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out on geotechnical investigations at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls. The watching brief monitored the excavation of 12 test Pits and six geoarchaeological boreholes and was intended to help refine deposit models previously undertaken. The watching brief identified natural gravels overlain by a peat horizon of possible bronze age date which was in turn overlain by undated alluvium and post-medieval made ground.
