Abstract:		 This report results from investigations undertaken from the London office of the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, under the framework of RCHME's Emergency Recording programme. The recording of the Western Goods Shed (Barpart House) in November 1998 supplements previous investigations of the King's Cross Goods Yard site carried out by the RCHME and other parties, an area that has faced development proposals since the late 1980s. The Western Goods Shed is not a listed building, but is of considerable interest in the context of the site as a whole and in the history of steel-framed buildings and of railway goods handling.
