Abstract: |
A watching brief conducted during the demolition and redevelopment of the Former Fire Station site at Clifford Street in York. Included monitoring of an area strip, service excavations, lift shaft excavation, augering, removal of stone setts under a preservation order and the removal of a water tank. The archaeology encountered was largely superficial apart from a possible Franciscan Friary wall encountered only as an obstruction during the aurgering process. |
