Abstract: |
A programme of mitigation works is in place for the New Brunstane Masterplan on the eastern side of Edinburgh. In this phase of the work, Scheduled sites were fenced off and a programme of ground investigation works were monitored. These included trial pits (37), starter pits for both percussion and rotary boreholes (65) and larger 10m x 10m trenches (15) to check the locations of shafts or mineworkings inferred from geophysics. A ditch features was found in one trial pit and all except one of the 15 shaft investigation trenches contained mineworkings of some sort. |
