Abstract: |
Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd was commissioned by Bloor Homes Wester to undertake a program of archaeological investigation on an area of land south of John Moore Primary School and west of Rudgeway Lane, Wheatpieces, Tewkesbury. The excavation was undertaken in a single phase and comprised an area of 4141m² (c.80m x 60m). The excavation identified a sub-circular enclosure ditch with its entrance orientated to the north and two parallel posthole bedding trenches situated in the enclosure entrance. There was also cluster of at least seven inter-cutting pits. |
