Abstract: |
Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook an archaeological watching brief at Connaught Barracks, Dover, Kent, between 3rd October 2016 and13th January 2017. The watching brief was commissioned by WYG Group, in advance of residential development and as a condition of planning permission DOV/15/00618/C. The watching brief exposed the remains of modern waste pits, a concrete training bunker, two vehicle inspection pits and a series of brick foundations and floor surface, concrete footings and landscaping features related to former structures associated with Connaught Barracks. No significant further archaeological remains were revealed. |
