Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook a geophysical (magnetometer) survey, covering 7 hectares, on land south of Frisby on the Wreake, Leicestershire, to inform a planning application for a proposed development. No anomalies of archaeological potential have been identified by the survey. Parallel linear anomalies have been identified throughout the site which are characteristic of the medieval and post-medieval practice of ridge and furrow cultivation. These are thought to be of low archaeological value but may be of local historical interest. Elsewhere, anomalies have been identified which are due to localised variations within the soils and superficial deposits and to ferrous contamination of the upper soil horizons. Therefore, based on the results and interpretation of the geophysical survey, the archaeological potential of the site is assessed as low, corroborating the results of the Desk-Based Assessment.
