Abstract: |
In January 2016 a programme of Observation and Recording was carried out at the RSPB Reserve, The Lodge, Potton Road, Sandy, Bedfordshire during the excavation of a trench to accommodate CCTV near to a new wind Turbine on the reserve. Archaeological features are known to exist within the area in the form of earthworks believed to have been prehistoric or Roman, and a probable Iron Age roundhouse and associated features have recently been found immediately to the northeast of the cabling trench. The project revealed made-ground at the south-east end of the trench thought to be a result of recent works in the area, and the sites natural stratigraphy throughout the remainder, with no finds, features or deposits observed. |
