Abstract: |
Pre-Construct Archaeology was commissioned to monitor the excavation of a trench 23m x 3m x 1m deep within the southern area of the site on 10th April 2019. The earliest deposit found was a mid-greyish brown silty clay made ground layer of late post-medieval date, located approximately 0.60m below ground level. This layer was overlain by a modern made ground of type one and concrete. The trench was not excavated to a depth at which earlier deposits would be anticipated. |
