Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd, in collaboration with the Bartlett Clark Consultancy, undertook a geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 117 hectares, of land surrounding Dunton Hills Farm and Dunton Hills Family Golf Centre at East Horndon, Essex, to inform planning proposals for a proposed residential development. Anomalies indicative of modern activity, pipes, field drains and former field boundaries have been identified. No anomalies of likely archaeological potential have been identified by the survey. Consequently the site is assessed (on the basis of the geophysical survey) as of very low archaeological potential, confirming the conclusions of an earlier desk-based assessment.
