Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out at the rear of the existing house on excavations for new foundations for a rear extension. The site lies in an area of previous discoveries of Romano-British burials within the extensive northern cemetery of Roman Winchester. The sides and base of the foundation trenches revealed post-medieval garden soil to a depth of 0.8m below existing ground level; no burials or significant archaeological remains of any date were uncovered.
