Abstract: |
An historic building record of a rural villa dating to 1825 was prepared prior to redevelopment. The investigation also included garden features, and attached ranges when used as the West Cornwall School for Girls (from 1929) and the Penwith District Council offices (from 1974); a Cold War era bunker in the basement was also recorded. An initial survey was undertaken in July 2017. In February 2018 before works commenced a fire broke out within part of the 19th-century villa. To inform clearance and rebuilding additional recording of this area was undertaken. |
