Abstract: |
During May 2013, historic building recording of Church Hall Farm Barn, Broxted, Essex, ahead of the conversion of the barn for residential use. The barn has previously been awarded Grade II* Listed status, and is considered a fine example of an early 15th century agricultural building that may have been part of a medieval manorial complex. The results of the building recording agree with the Listing description, and suggest that the barn may have been a tithe barn, prior to the insertion of a concrete floor and the barn's use as a cart shed in the early 20th century. |
