Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook a geophysical (magnetometer) survey of a 5.5 hectare site on land east of the A417, Overton, Gloucestershire, where a new poultry unit is proposed. No anomalies of archaeological potential have been identified. Localised areas of magnetic enhancement in the south of the application area are thought likely to be due to small-scale mineral extraction. Elsewhere, the survey has identified a service pipe and anomalies which reflect recent and historical ploughing. On the basis of the geophysical survey, the archaeological potential of the site is assessed as very low.
