Abstract: |
Planning permission was granted on appeal for the construction of four houses in the car park of the White Horse Public House, Park Lane, Eaton Bray, Bedfordshir The significance the earlier evaluation, albionar1-148289, results led to the recommendation of a programme of archaeological open area excavation. The excavations have revealed evidence which is of local significance for investigations into the character, date and development of the medieval settlement at Eaton Bray and its contemporary landscape. No structures were revealed on the site but the presence of late Saxon and medieval pitting, the medieval well the undated but possibly contemporary medieval enclosure, suggests that the area was a |
