Abstract: |
The stripping of the footprint for a new terrace of houses revealed small scale quarrying, several ditches and two pits of later Romano-British date, cut, in the central part of the site, by a later, but undated, pond. The pottery along with evidence of iron smithing from the pits indicates the site was probably on the periphery of settlement. A subsequent monitoring and recording visit on the excavation of soakaway revealed no further archaeological remains. |
