Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd conducted a trial-trench archaeological evaluation on land at Trinity Hall Farm, Tilsworth, Bedfordshire, as part of a programme of archaeological evaluative works carried out in support of a planning application for the construction of a solar farm and two wind turbines. Trial trenching revealed evidence for an Iron Age / Romano-British trackway connecting a presumed settlement to the south of the DA with Watling Street; Saxon activity in the southeastern part of the DA representing agriculture and nearby settlement; furrows (indicative of medieval ridge-and-furrow cultivation) across the DA; and the remains of post-medieval and modern field boundaries.
