Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned to undertake the excavation of a single archaeological evaluation trench on land at Gravesend Eastern Quarter, Gravesend, Kent. Centred on National Grid Reference (NGR) 564804, 174311. The site has been divided into 3 Zones, as shown in the report. The Archaeological Evaluation will take place in a phased approach across the three zones. The results included here are for Archaeological Zone 1 and were undertaken from the 7th to the 8th of January 2019. Minimal modern archaeology was uncovered. This is considered to have limited to no further research potential. The results of the work detailed in this statement will be reproduced in full in a final Evaluation Report on completion of the remaining fieldwork at the Gravesend Eastern Quarter.
