Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by AC archaeology ahead during the construction of a new combined garage, workshop, and office on land at Groves Fishleigh, Sanctuary Lane, Hatherleigh, Devon. Groves Fishleigh Farmhouse is Grade-II listed and dates from the 17th century. Monitored groundworks comprised the bulk reduction of the site followed by the excavation of a footings trench. The results from the monitoring and recording were largely negative. No in situ structural remains associated a building shown on historic mapping were exposed. The area had been landscaped in recent times. |
