The Garlands Farmhouse building is a grade II listed structure and is as a designated building considered to be a structure of national importance. The main part of the farmhouse is a Georgian building in a neo-classical style. The cheeseroom building that forms the other component of the structure appears to belong to a more traditional phase of development of at least the early 18th century but possibly before, although there are indications here of considerable amounts of reworking. There is evidence of a former chimney at the back of the building, which would have been a lateral chimney, but the stack at some time has been removed.
