Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment required ahead of a planning application for a proposed quarry extension. The site has: moderate to high potential for later prehistoric remains, based on previously recorded evidence in the area; low to moderate potential for Roman remains; high potential for remains related to medieval and post-medieval usage of the site as agricultural land, but low potential for other activity, such as settlement, of this date. The site has never been previously developed, therefore archaeological evidence from earlier eras has good potential for survival. |
