Abstract: |
Headland Archaeology undertook a programme of historic building recording and a watching brief during the demolition of Crown Point Weir (Leeds Dam) and the excavation of foundations for the installation of a new movable weir as part of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme (Ref. 12/04465/FU). The work has recorded the construction, function and development of the weir, a Grade II listed building (list entry ID 1375063). No evidence for alterations to the nineteenth century structure was identified, nor was any evidence recorded of any earlier medieval structure. |
