Abstract:		 Monitoring of the ditch clearance involved inspecting spoil from within the ditches, metal detecting the spoil and inspecting the exposed ditch walls for archaeological artefacts and features. The spoil was thoroughly inspected but yielded no artefacts. The ditch walls were smeared by the machine bucket and the ditch filled with water, thus only a cursory examination of the walls was undertaken. The visual inspection revealed no features or artefacts.
