The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 No archaeological features were noted during the excavations of the footing trenches for a replacement extension on the western side of Forge Cottage. This was most likely due to the very disturbed nature of the ground. However, two pottery sherds dating to the Saxo-Norman period were recovered from the topsoil, hinting at Early Medieval activity on or near to the site. The majority of the artefacts recovered during the watching brief dated to the period contemporary with Forge Cottage, with other pottery sherds dated to the early Post Medieval period, with the largest quantity dating to the 19th century.
