Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook a geophysical (magnetometer) survey, covering approximately 8 hectares on land east of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, to provide information on the archaeological potential of the site of a new relief road as part of the A355 Improvement Scheme. The survey has identified a probable barrow in a slightly elevated position in the north of the survey area. Elsewhere, anomalies have been identified which reflect variation in the depth and composition of the soils. On the basis of the geophysical survey, the archaeological potential across the majority of the site is assessed as being low although a high archaeological potential is ascribed to the area around the probable barrow
