Abstract:		 In August - November 2011 a watching brief was carried out at the Ashridge Estate, Little Gaddesden, Hertfordshire during the laying of three water mains. Sixty-nine trenches were observed. Two contained possible post-holes, likely to be of post-medieval date, that may either be part of a fence line associated with the trackway immediately east of the trenches, or have formed part of an enclosure. The remaining trenches contained no archaeological finds, features or deposits.
