Abstract:		 Allen Archaeology was commissioned by Mr and Mrs Roberts to carry out an archaeological strip, map and record to satisfy a planning condition incorporating a single storey extension and garage on 3-4 The Street, Furneux Pelham, Hertfordshire. The site lies in an area of archaeological interest relating to the historic settlement of Funeux Pelham. The site was once part of the Bowyers estate of which today only the Grade II listed 17th century cottage remain. Apart from a modern service trench a single pit was recorded which contained ceramic and clay finds dating from the 16th-20th century.
