Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out during groundwork for a small extension at Spencer Fell House, Great Wenham. It revealed a straightforward sequence of glacial till sealed by recent deposits of 'made-ground' and turf. The only archaeological feature was a truncated timber post, probably associated with the late medieval/post-medieval cottage that formerly occupied the site of the current building.
