Abstract:		 Archaeological watch brief carried out during the building of a new road between Eden Street West and St Mary`s Boulevard in Sunderland. The scheme of works involved the reinforcing a bell mouth leading from St Mary`s Boulevard to an existing car park at the rear of a decommissioned police station. A single irregular shaped trench was excavated to a maximum depth of 0.60 m with no archaeological remains uncovered.
