Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometer survey was conducted over land at Samples Farm, Walkington, East Riding of Yorkshire. The project was commissioned by AGR Renewables Ltd. with the aim of establishing the presence, or otherwise, and nature of detectable archaeological features on the site ahead of a proposed single wind turbine and associated infrastructure development. The gradiometer survey has demonstrated the presence of a number of anomalies of possible archaeological interest. These are located largely in the southeastern part of the site, and comprise short lengths of ditch-like anomalies and pit-like responses. |
