Abstract: |
Two days of archaeological monitoring (watching brief) carried out on the 30th and 31st of October 2019 during a scheme of emergency stabilisation and strengthening works at General Lambert's House, numbers 31 and 33 Narrowgate, Alnwick Northumberland, NE66 1JG (NGR: NU 1849 1349). A section of wall was discovered that was built on a different alignment to the main house and existing garden wall and does not appear on maps of the property. In the same trench two sherds of 12th to 14th century pottery were also found. |
