Abstract: |
Pre-Construct Archaeology undertook an evaluation at PSH Environmental, Wendover Road, Rackheath on March 1st and 2nd 2021. The evaluation comprised four 30m trial trenches. The results of the trenching indicate there was limited evidence for archaeological finds or features across the site. An undated ditch [111] was recorded running east to west in Trench 2. A large pit [105] excavated in Trench 4 may be a charcoal clamp. It contained no finds though similar features known locally date from the Middle Saxon to early medieval period. Other features investigated, though somewhat pit-like in appearance contained no finds and were deemed to be natural features. |
